Meeting one successful
The get-together of new library-school students went better than I had any hope for. I had two RSVPs, but four actually showed up, and in addition to them the senior departmental advisor!
I couldn’t have asked for better weather. Not too hot, not too cold, windy but not too windy—just windy enough to keep the bugs off—and bright as noonday.
So we all got questions answered (the senior advisor was very gracious and patient), exchanged histories and class schedules, groaned about the state budget, and watched the sailboats out on the lake. A very successful function, if I do say so myself.
The next one is likely going to be a Friday lunch in mid-to-late July…
