Minor dilemmas

Apropos of AKMA’s bill problems, my phone bill looks plain old wrong this month. They’re charging me for the second line I dropped, and they aren’t charging me for DSL.

The thing is, they’re shortchanging themselves (by a small amount) thereby, and I’m not sure I want to spend hours on hold to fix their accounting in their favor. I’m tempted to just pay it and assume they’ll figure it out and adjust next month’s bill.

I haven’t heard a peep about my job for this fall, and it’s starting to unsettle me. I sent a bee-in-bonnet email to the guy hiring, and my friend who recommended me promised to insert a few more bees—but still nothing.

I don’t think I can give him much more than another week before I start negotiating with the people I work for now. The other job is vastly preferable, but the worst of all possible worlds is getting left without work if I wait too long for them. (Though I could survive it if I had to, I’d really rather not have to.)

Eh, well. Nothing earthshakingly wrong. Which is a blessing.
