Digging in
So to attack this denial of mine (“I am not a student again! I’m not! I’m not!” something in my hindbrain is madly screaming), I am meeting with one of the SLIS librarians after work today, to put together a presentation for new students on the university library catalog system.
(Yes, yes, I know I’m a new student too in one sense—but in the sense that counts, I’ve been using that system in various incarnations since 1994.)
And I think I’m going to go pick up my books for the semester before I get there. Oh, boy, checkbook pain. At least I got paid yesterday.
I am too a student, I keep telling my hindbrain. Stubborn cuss, it is. I can’t wait to find out what it’s going to pull once it gets out of this denial phase it’s in.
