Arrrr, matey, hands off that there software!
I swear it’s enough to make me wonder why I didn’t just pirate the stuff.
I bought a fully legitimate, full-retail copy of ScanSoft’s Dragon Naturally Speaking software. (Version 7. Preferred.) I cannot install it because the CD-ROM I received is defective. (Their install program says the CD-ROM is defective. When I try to copy the CD-ROM onto disk, Windows tells me the CD-ROM is defective. Surely this is sufficient evidence that the CD-ROM is defective?)
I called tech support. Tech support hung up. I spent ten bucks to email them a request for a new CD-ROM. No reply as yet.
May I just say, this is stupid and mean and I would really like ScanSoft to wise up and send me the darn CD?
Alternately, any piracy-minded individuals with a clean DNS 7 Preferred CD are invited to contact me. I’ll pay postage both ways just to be able to install the software I bought and paid for. ‘Cuz, $150 is a lot to pay for a coaster.
