Found something

Digging around in my presentations folder this morning, I found two old (in one case, very old) introductions to XML. They’re pitched at about the right place, and they’re nicely genial, so I think I’ll crib from them for Rohan.

Everybody wins—Rohan gets a presentation I’ve given a bit of thought to and that may actually be useful to them, but I don’t have to work it up from scratch. Which given Monday’s networking midterm (terminology! argh!) and Tuesday’s search assignment is a fine thing indeed.

I do note that Rohan told me up-front what Ruritania only hinted at afterwards: the content of the presentation is wholly secondary; the point here is to see whether I can stand up in front of a bunch of people and say halfway-intelligible things without melting into a dribble of quivering goo.

Which I actually happen to be rather good at, fortunately. The standing-and-saying part, I mean, not the melting part. In any case, I pass this tidbit of new knowledge on in hopes it will help other librarians looking for work.

Oz is still calling references, from what I hear. They haven’t contacted me directly yet.
