ACRL schedule
I doubt anybody cares but me, but nevertheless, here’s my ACRL schedule. I’ll be getting in Wednesday evening at eight-ish.
Thursday morning: preconference, “Institutional Digital Repository @ Your Library?”
Lunch open.
2:30: new-attendee orientation
4:30: keynote
5:30: reception; whether I’ve got anyone to talk to will determine how long I actually stay
Friday 8:30 am: Federated Searching: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (you know I couldn’t resist that title, right?)
11:00 am: Adventures-R-Us… Emerging as Electronic Resource Librarians
2:30 pm: Curiosity and Motivation/Socratic Inquiry (I’m official session-flunkie for these, though I’d rather go to the institutional-repository workshop. Oh, well, maybe they’ll let me in late. If not, then…)
4:30 pm: eLibrarian II: Designing the Smarter Information Partner
7:00 pm: Blog Dinner, yay!
Saturday, 8:00 am: AACR3: Redefining a Standard for the 21st Century
10:30 am: either the Open Access or Googlelization talks; I haven’t quite decided yet, need to check up on speaker credentials
2:00 pm: What If Open Access Scholarly Publishing Succeeds? (I like the metadata pair, but I’ve seen a lot of these people speak already, so I picked this one instead.)
And after that I am going home, having been very kindly offered a ride.
Somewhere in there I should have time to cruise the exhibit hall and the job-search center, drop off some résumés, rub elbows, all that kind of good stuff.
I still have all lunchtimes and Thursday evening free, so if anybody’s planning a good meal and doesn’t mind me tagging along, let me know. I’d mention Wednesday, but I’m probably the only silly idiot arriving then.
Happy conference, everybody!
