Okay, now it’s official

The offer letter finally arrived today… and, predictably, I’m having trouble faxing back my acceptance. (So I emailed it as an attachment while I keep trying the fax. I’m stubborn that way.)

Starting sometime next month (probably the 18th), I will be the Digital Repository Services Librarian for George Mason University. My chief responsibility will be MARS, their new institutional repository: keeping it running (with help, of course), making sure it’s well-designed, assisting depositors and users in any of a myriad of ways, and attracting deposits.

I could try to be happier about this job and the people I’ll be working with, but I honestly don’t think I’ve got room to cram any more happiness in. I’m just utterly thrilled to pieces, and I can’t wait to start. Got some ideas about the user interface, to begin with…

In the meantime, though, I have to hit the post office. Excuse, please.
