Stopping time

A lot of stuff has Freecycled its way out of my house, and more will be going tomorrow and Monday. What this means, of course, is that I’ve found more stuff that I need to Freecycle, and some stuff (sadly) that needs to just plain be thrown out.

But the finished part of the basement is almost clear, yay! Getting stuff out of there and the alcove will let us call a carpet-cleaner in. (Ha ha. The alcove is full of books.)

I’m starting to round up apartment-visit appointments, seeing as how we’re leaving to visit apartments in a week. (Anybody local mind stopping in once a day to feed the Goth-kitties?) The power of the blog is such that a friend I haven’t met yet has actually volunteered to chauffeur us around the area for a day or two. (The other power of the blog is that I have strict orders to look up a couple of faculty and staff when I get there, people who happen to read CavLec—and one of them is in an extremely strategic position, from my perspective.)

Tomorrow I’m going to tackle painting the bathroom ceiling, having scraped and spackled as much of it as will scrape and/or spackle. I’ve also got to finish hauling Freecycled stuff up from the basement, and it’d be nice to get a start on packing those books.

The damned calendar keeps creeping onward, though. Wish I could stop time long enough to be sure I could get everything ready to go!
