Customer service, redux
I could try to be angrier at Verizon. Not sure I’d succeed.
They closed out the trouble ticket they’d opened about my DSL not connecting. I turned my modem off and back on. Nada.
So I called them back up, and what do you know? I’m too far out for their DSL!
Okay, mistakes can be made; I can accept mistakes. What I can’t accept is that I had to call them to learn the result of their investigation. That’s just crap service, is what that is.
Still working on alternatives. Those cable people are pirates, that’s what.
And then there’s Northern Virginia Community College, where I had enrolled in a Java programming class for the fall. They called David today to find out why I hadn’t paid them.
Why hadn’t I paid them? I couldn’t log into their damned website, that’s why; because they insist on keying it to a meaningless number. David couldn’t tell them that, and I guess I’ll not have the chance, but sheesh. (Oh, and it’s run on PeopleSoft, in case you were wondering.)
So I signed up for a class through the USDA Graduate School instead. Five minutes, no problems, and less expensive into the bargain. Everybody wins! Except NoVaCC, but they deserve to lose.
