Dejargonification

“There are no entries in the index for { name of collection }.”

Mean anything to you? Nope, not to me either. Okay, I’m lying—I do know what that means, but I’ve had a course in database design and I’m the local DSpace admin.

Someone without those attributes (which means just about everybody) is all like, “Index? Wha’? I’m just trying to browse the repository! What’s all this stuff about an index, and what does an index entry look like?”

I changed the message to “There are no materials in { name of collection }.” I hope that’s an improvement.

And all DSpace admins everywhere should look out for this one: “You can also return to where you where during the submission process if you clicked Cancel by accident.” It’s in the default install, in config/language-packs/Messages.properties. It’s embarrassing. You’ll want to fix it.
