Bloggers and chilaquiles

Despite a terribly noisy atmosphere and service that was (I will be polite and say) rushed, I had a lovely time with fellow librarian bloggers at dinner last night.

Conversation ranged from food and other consumables in libraries to the library job market (which, yes, still rots), to conference programs that some folks went to and other folks didn’t. Very good times.

Just for the record, setting this up was absolutely no big deal. I emailed the woman in charge, she got everything webby set up, I wrote a few blog posts and emails and made the restaurant reservation—and that was it. If it’s always this easy at ALA conferences, there’s no reason I can think of not to do it.

I’m sitting on a (relatively) quiet second-floor hallway watching a red-headed woodpecker attack a birch tree outside the window. Sessions start in a half hour. I’m sorry I have to miss a day of conference by leaving today, but I’m also a little bit glad, because I’m not just running out of steam—I’m out. Completely.
