We have a mover picked out. We have plane tickets, and we’re working on smuggling getting the Goths on board. About two-thirds of our books are boxed. Most of my stuff is home from the office (though I should really think about what I’m going to do with my office chair, which is mine and not the university’s—the World’s Coolest Boss observes bemusedly that the chair got to MPOW before I did!).
I have the latest stable version of DSpace all hacked up and ready to go into production next Wednesday, backed by a functional Subversion repository. (Must remember to kill CVS after I pull out a couple of in-progress hacks. Stabbity fiery burny death!) I’ve got a tolerably good mini-handbook written up for my replacement. I finished with one committee obligation the other day; next week should tie up a search committee I’m on. I need to clear out my drawers, both physical and virtual, and sort out what my replacement needs and what I can get rid of.
This move is going to be a squeaker for time. Movers are coming March 9; we’re going March 10. I look at the piles of books (never mind clothes, kitchen stuff, etc.) and despair… but we’ll make it. We have to.
