The houses along South Shore Drive drain their laundry machines to the outside world rather than the sewers. Several such drains dump the water down the driveway.
In winter, this creates a really beautiful and really treacherous sheet of supersmooth ice, all the more dangerous when it’s partly or wholly covered by a thin film of the latest precipitation such that it’s not quite visible.
And that’s all I’m going to say about that, except that I didn’t hurt myself very badly this time.
